Successful Grant Applicants
CBT CIP/AAP Adjudication Committee – Recommendations to Council
The recommended resolutions for the 2017 project funding applications and amounts from the CBT Adjudication Committee were as follows:
  1. VARDA’s application to receive $45,000 for the Valemount Mountain Bike Park Phase 3 Development, subject to quotes, was approved.
  2. Valmeount Public Library Association application for $6,957 for library furnishings was approved.
  3. Yellowhead Outdoor Recreation Association (YORA)  will receive $20,000 toward the McKirdy Meadows Trail Upgrade, subject to quotes.
  4. The Village of Valemount was approved for $10,000 for the Canada 150 Celebration.
  5. The Robson Valley Spay and Neuter Society was approved to receive $8,000 for spaying and neutering cats and dogs in the Valemount area.
  6. Valemount Ambulance Association will receive $57,154 for enhanced equipment for two ambulances.
  7. Canoe Valley Communtiy Association will receive $44,951 for Phase 3 of the Active Living Kids Pilot Project, subject on the understanding that this is the final year of funding for this pilot project.
  8. Valemount Entertainment Society will receive $30,065 for Digital Conversion of four channels, antenna upgrades, cabling, and transmission tower repairs.
  9. Valemount Learning Society receives $46,019 toward the Valemount College Start-up.
  10.  Valemount Marina Association was approved for $30,000 for the Warming Hut, subject to quotes.
  11.  Valemount Community Sports Day Association will receive a reduced amount of $10,000 for a Canada Day 150 Valemountain Days Celebration.
  12.  Valemount Geothermal Society will receive $20,000 toward a Valemount Hot Pools Development Plan, subject to obtaining all necessary permits.
  13.  Valemount Curling Club was approved for $26,500 to make structural improvements to the Curling Club building.
  14.  Village of Valemount Economic Development Committee’s application for $10,800 toward the installation of an electric car charging station was denied.
  15.  Lion’s Club will receive the balance of available 2017 CBT CIP/AAP funding toward their flooring, to a maximum of $13,846, subject to quotes.
  16.  Canoe Valley Community Association was denied their request for $10,000 to conduct a Community Outreach After School Young Cooks Program Pilot Project.
  17.  Royal Canadian Legion Branch 266 was denied their application for $148,600 to install an Outdoor Stage.
  18.  Canoe Valley Community Association was denied their application for $10,160 to conduct a Kid’s Destination Tourism Project, with the recommendation that they take their idea to Tourism Valemount.
  19.  Canoe Mountain Rodeo Association was denied their application of $137,000 for a log pavilion for large community events.
