Robson Valley Regional RCMP report - April 6, 2017 issue

On March 29 members of the McBride RCMP Detachment were challenged to play the students of the McBride Elementary School to a basketball game. The RCMP team were provided much welcome help by the grade 5 students but unfortunately lost to the students by double digits. It was a great experience for all participants and the RCMP team look forward to a re-match.

On March 29 McBride RCMP responded to a report of a domestic assault in McBride. Upon arrival members spoke with the female victim who had been assaulted by a male party. The victim sought treatment at the McBride Hospital and was subsequently released. The local male was located, arrested and charged with: Assault, Forcible Confinement, Overcome Resistance by Choking, and Utter Death threats. The male was transported to Prince George where he remains in custody.
On March 31 McBride and Valemount RCMP received information that a violent 37 year old male was believed to be travelling from Alberta to British Columbia in a personal vehicle. The male who resides in the interior had numerous warrants out for his arrest including charges of; Assault with a Weapon, Being Unlawfully At Large, Careless Use of a Firearm, Failing to Appear, Forcible Confinement, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Production of a Controlled Substance, and Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm. Members from the Prince George Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Prince George Police Dog Service (PDS) attended and assisted members with stopping the vehicle. The male was located and arrested without incident and was subsequently transported to Prince George where he remains in custody.
