McBride Council Notes - Oct 19, 2017 Issue

On Tues. Oct. 10 the Regularly Scheduled Meeting of the Village of McBride began at 7:00 pm with Mayor Loranne Martin, Coun. Harold Edwards, Coun. Rosemary Hruby, Coun. Rick Thompson, CAO Cheryl Martens and staff member Sherri Flynn as minute taker. Coun. Lucille Green joined the meeting at 7:12 pm.

There were two members of the public in attendance and no delegates or petitions were on the docket. No late items were introduced to the agenda.

The reading of the Sept. 12 Regular Council Meeting and the Special Council Meeting of Sept. 18 were approved as presented. Written reports from Coun. Edwards and Coun. Thompson, as well as a report from the Public Works Dept., were included in the agenda.

A motion was passed to approve a request for a Grant-in-Aid for $250 from the McBride and District Volunteer Fire Department Association to assist with the Halloween fireworks display.

A motion for an amendment to the Council Agendas and Minutes Policy AD-17 was approved.

Under new business; a motion was passed to approve a Business Façade Improvement for the location known as Shawn’s Engine Repair owned by Josef Rupar for up to $5,000.

Motions for grant applications for the 2018 NDIT Grant Writing Support, the NDIT Economic Development Capacity Building 2018, and the NDIT Business Facade Improvement Program Grant 2018 were also all approved by Council.
