Valemount College has received provincial accreditation, which means that as early as next spring it can begin to provide programming.

In order to receive accreditation, the college had to meet rigorous requirements and high standards set by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education.

The first two academic programs intended to be offered is Tourism Administration and Rural Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, slated for the spring of 2019, with two additional programs expected for late 2019 / early 2020.

Says College Director Eric Kromhout, “As an interim designated and certified college, students can be assured that our academic programs have attained a level that meets or exceeds standards that were developed by experts in the field.

“Additionally, instructors employed at Valemount College also meet strict recruitment standards set out by the PTIB while employers can be assured that our graduates are qualified and employment ready.”

They will soon begin advertising for the spring intake.
